Anti-wrinkle injections with Botulinum Toxin

Botulinum toxin type A is a prescription only medication that works by temporally blocking the signals made by nerve endings it works by stopping the release of Acetylcholine this chemicals role is to transmit the signals made by the nerve endings to the muscles that causes contraction and movement and wrinkle formation.

Anti-wrinkle injections can last between 2 to 4 months in some cases up to 6 months. The effects gradually disappear over time leaving your skin’s appearance as it was before your treatment, it is like stop ageing the skin for that period of time, it will never get worse the way it looked before treatment.

As with any medical procedure there are risks and possible side effects. Complications are uncommon but can include localised bruising, swelling and redness and rarely drooping of the eye brow or eye lid and allergic reaction.
